Semester Abroad in Helsinki - Unique Insights.

The two Bachelor students of Management & Law Jakob Grander and David Frommelt have sent us a special field report from Finland.

Jakob Grander and David Frommelt are currently exploring Finland, gaining extraordinary experience abroad at HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki.

In addition to idyllic walks through the city's evening sun and explorations of the beautiful recreational areas around Helsinki, our students report participating in a traditional student festival and historical city tours. They were particularly impressed by the natural paradise on the island of Lammassaari and the Nuukusio National Park. During a visit to the Finnish Parliament, they were even able to get a photo with the current "Speaker of the House" Matti Vanhanen.

The two Bachelor students describe why they have enjoyed their experience abroad so far with the following words:

“Helsinki is a city with many possibilities and faces. On the one hand, Helsinki represents a modern, new and emerging city. On the other hand, this city also offers the necessary tranquility, beauty and diversity. Helsinki inspires every generation. No matter if young or old. Whether in celebration mood or even just quiet is preferred. We are just at the beginning of our trip and could already venture a glimpse into Finnish life, yet we still have much to explore. In summary, we can already say that this city carries a very different flair. But this flair is exactly what we were looking for and we are extremely excited to see what else our stay has to offer."
