Award for MCI lecturer at Value Day 2014

Top-class research by Mai Anh Dao convinces the jury

This year’s Value Day in Dornbirn certainly lived up to its name for Mai Anh Dao, research fellow and lecturer in the MCI’s Department of Business & Management: She was awarded the prize for the best Master’s thesis in the Strategy section. Her work on the subject of “The Common Ground Phenomenon and its Influence on Cultural and Task Integration in M&A” was chosen by the jury out of a large number of entries. Following her Bachelor in Tourism at the MCI, Mai Anh Dao recently completed a Master’s at the Department of Strategic Management and Leadership at Innsbruck University.

“Mai Anh Dao is an outstanding and highly promising young academic, whom I have been happy to mentor with her dissertation,” says Professor Kurt Matzler of the Department of Strategic Management and Leadership at Innsbruck University, who tutored her Master’s thesis together with Florian Bauer of the MCI.

Value Day is an annual gathering of managers from the Lake Constance region, Business Administration graduates and leading university figures in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The Value Day program includes an international competition to find the best Master’s theses in the categories Controlling, Finance and Strategy. This year, 23 graduates from ten universities in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein presented their research work for assessment by the critical jury.

Management Center Innsbruck would like to congratulate Mai Anh Dao on her fine academic achievement and wishes the prize-winner many more such awards!
