Maria Rabl assumes function of Head of Studies at MCI

Professor Maria Rabl acts as interim Head of Studies for Business & Management and Business & Management for Professionals while Professor Bernd Kirschner manages the master degree program in International Business & Management and increasingly focuses on his research

Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) has now appointed Maria Rabl to manage the part-time bachelor program in Business & Management for Professionals and the bachelor program in Business & Management, which is entirely based on English.

Professor Maria Rabl, who has been a lecturer and researcher at MCI since 2011, will occupy the office of Head of Studies for the following two years. She temporarily replaces Professor Bernd Kirschner, who continues to act as Head of Department for Business & Management and manages the master program in International Business & Management. During the following two years he moreover intends to increasingly turn his attention to research tasks.

Rabl thus assumes responsibility for two well-established degree programs with currently 363 students. The full-time bachelor program in Business & Management for Professionals has replaced the diploma course in Business & Management which was revised as part of the Bologna process. The program has been a sensation ever since its original version was launched as the then first part-time study program of Austria in 1996. Its success story grounds on continuous quality assurance, innovation, and advancement. Also the master degree program in International Business & Management and the full-time program in Business & Management, which is entirely held in English, were created within the scope of the Bologna process. The former was introduced in 2009; the latter only two years later.

The programs are organized in modules and perfectly adapted to individual personal or professional needs as well as educational objectives. They unite theory and practice within an integrative approach and communicate significant international experience. The Department for Business & Management has so far produced 1.216 graduates and regularly achieves top grades in surveys and rankings.

Dr. Maria Rabl, Head of Studies for Business & Management and Business & Management for Professionals: “I am delighted at my appointment as Head of Study and look forward to continuing the successful development of the degree programs in Business & Management within a challenging environment.”

Prof. Bernd Kirschner, Head of Studies for International Business & Management: “With Maria Rabl we have appointed a committed and qualified colleague who combines strong teaching skills and a profound knowledge of the processes at MCI with profound management skills. It will be a pleasure to cooperate with her!”

Dr. Andreas Altmann, MCI Rector: “I am certain that Maria Rabl will actively continue the successful implementation of the study programs in cooperation with Bernd Kirschner. Both colleagues are known for their competence, commitment, professionalism, and passion.”
