MCI ranked Austria’s Best University again

The 2016 Universum Ranking again ranks MCI as the best university of Austria: the Entrepreneurial School® is Austria’s only university that takes first place in two of three categories of the prestigious ranking

Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) has chalked up yet another international success: the recently published Universum Ranking (Universum Talent Survey) has again put MCI at the top of the Austrian academic landscape. The Entrepreneurial School® is notably the only university in Austria to take first place in two of altogether three categories.

MCI has been awarded first place in the “Strongest Focus on Employability” category, rating the employability and career prospects of graduates, which are among the top priorities of the Entrepreneurial School®. The university was awarded top grades particularly for its focus on professional development, entrepreneurial thinking and activity, its strong network with the world of business, high employment rate of graduates, practical training, and excellent reputation among potential employers.

With a score of 8.2 points, which is unique among Austrian universities, whose average score is 6.4 points, MCI has also secured first place in the “Best Career Service” category. MCI has thus even outpaced renowned institutions such as the Vienna University of Economics and Business, or the Graz University of Technology.

MCI is particularly pleased with the results and the second place it has achieved in the “Most Satisfied Students” category, i.e. the general level of students’ satisfaction with their universities. The students of the Entrepreneurial School® have rated their satisfaction with the university at 8.3 points, while the average level of student satisfaction in Austria is at 7.3. With an outstanding score of 8.6 points, as compared to the Austrian average of 7.7 points, the rate at which students would recommend MCI is similarly high. If current students could start over with their studies, an astonishing 89 percent would definitely choose to study at MCI again. In the overall evaluation the Entrepreneurial School® thus comes in second.

The achievements of the Entrepreneurial School® in this year’s Universum Ranking are in accord with the results of numerous surveys and rankings as well as prizes the university has been awarded over the past few years. Management Center Innsbruck has always stressed the importance of academic standards, practical relevance, committing to achievement, internationality, professional services, and consistent quality assurance. Exemplary curricula and modern approaches to teaching, internationally active lecturers and students, the close cooperation with the world of business, a strong Career Center, as well as the diversity of Student Services have thus formed the basis for the most recent distinction in the Universum Ranking.

Based in Stockholm, Universum is a global specialist for employer branding. In the annual Universum Talent Survey the company assesses, among other factors, the level of satisfaction of students with their universities. In 2016 the survey targeted more than 1.5 million students and young professionals in over 58 countries world-wide. 20,000 students and young professionals participated in Austria alone.
