MCI expands international network

More renowned universities enter into cooperation with MCI: the Entrepreneurial School® shifts attention southwards – prestigious partner universities in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Peru provide excellent opportunities for students, lecturers, and researchers and revive Innsbruck as a science location

The Entrepreneurial School® continues international expansion by entering into cooperation with a number of high-ranking universities. The new MCI partners are at the top of respective academic landscapes and also rank among the best on an international level.

Specifically, MCI now also holds partnership agreements with LUISS University in Rome, the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, the University of Deusto in Bilbao, and the ESAN University in Peru.

LUISS is an independent, private university and, next to Bocconi University in Milan, known as the best business school in Italy. Located in the stunning gardens of Villa Borghese at the heart of the Italian capital Rome, LUISS is closely affiliated with the General Confederation of Italian Industry, commonly referred to as Confindustria.

The two universities on the Iberian Peninsula also rank among the European elite of business schools. Particularly remarkable is that the Nova School of Business & Economics is one of the few institutions world-wide to have been awarded the three most important international accreditations and thus to have been distinguished by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA simultaneously. Having awarded the first business degree in Spain in 1916, the University of Deusto in Bilbao is considered an innovative pioneer of the Spanish academic world. With their southern flair and economic advantage, Lisbon and Bilbao are two of the most exciting cities of Europe. In addition, part of the University of Deusto campus is located in the Basque capital and the 2016 European Capital of Culture San Sebastián.

The home of the fourth institution recently added to the list of MCI partners is even more exotic: ESAN University is situated in Lima, Peru’s capital city. The institution was established through an initiative by John F. Kennedy, who wanted to enrich Latin America with the introduction of business programs meeting the standards of American universities. Since its foundation in 1963, ESAN university thus belongs to the most dynamic business schools of Latin America. It is one of the very few South American universities to have been accredited by AACSB.

Susanne Lichtmanegger, Head of the International Relations Office at MCI, is delighted: “The four universities are among the world’s best business schools. They provide our students, lecturers, and researchers with unique opportunities for boosting their academic career, broadening their cultural horizon, and establishing valuable networks.”

MCI Rector Andreas Altmann adds: “Ever since its foundation 20 years ago, the Entrepreneurial School® has built on the strategy of internationalization. The conclusion of renowned partnership contracts as well as the consistent satisfaction of our students are proof of the strategy’s success. MCI thus regularly appears at the top of national and international rankings.”
