MCI Biotechnology Masters‘ Students Strike Gold on the Marshall Plan Scholarship 2018

Both nominees Lisa Wegmair and Thomas Samitsch graduate students of Biotechnology won the prestigious Marshall Plan Award for 2018.

This scholarship showcases students’ academic excellence and their challenging master thesis topics. Lisa Wegmair will be writing her master’s thesis on “The role of chemokines in the immune response to malaria vaccination“ at the University of Washington, Seattle and Thomas Samitsch will research and write on “Normoxic degradation of polycystin-1 in polycystic kidney disease“ at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
