The MCI’s graduates award top marks

Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) received strong confirmation of the quality of its work in the latest graduate poll. The survey was conducted with all 2,129 ex-students who graduated from the Entrepreneurial School® between 2007 and 2011.
Main results:
Recommending the MCI:
91.2% of respondees said they would “definitely” or “most probably” recommend the MCI to friends and colleagues.
Choice of study program:
90.8% of graduates felt in retrospect that they had “definitely” or “to a very great extent” selected the right study program.
Overall assessment of the study program:
85.6% said their MCI study program had been “very good” or “good”.
Students’ goals and degree of fulfillment:
The main goals pursued by students at the MCI related to the acquisition of competence in the subject (97.6%) and personal development (87%). Over 87% of graduates felt that these goals had been achieved “in full” or “on the whole”.
Relevance of the program for professional development:
73.6% of graduates now in employment consider the relevance of the study program for their professional development to be “very high” or “high”, while 19.4% consider it to be of “average” relevance.
Career & professional development: Graduates of part-time study programs made a big step forward in terms of professional development: The percentage in middle management increased from 12.1% at enrollment to 34.1% at the time of the survey. The increase in the numbers of graduates in senior management is equally impressive: from 3.5% to 16.5% at the time of the survey.
The results are similar in the case of full-time study: The percentage in middle management increased from just over 4% at graduation to 14.3% (Bachelors) and 18.7% (Diploma graduates, Masters) at the time of the survey.

Strategic Management in the Tourism & Leisure Industries

2014 Science Award for MCI graduate Marco Rückl
Science Award of the Chamber of Commerce for innovative Master’s thesis in the field of Mechatronics-Mechanical EngineeringThe Mechatronics Department at the MCI has something to celebrate: professional recognition for the Master’s thesis submitted by Marco Rückl, BSc, MSc. In his work in the field of control engineering, he developed a dynamic and efficient position controller for geared drives. In comparison with conventional controller designs, the new solution offers faster error convergence and long-term stability and has great potential for use in a wide range of drive systems.The Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce first announced the Science Award in 1997. Since then the prize has been awarded on an annual basis for outstanding Diploma and Master’s theses and dissertations which display a high degree of innovation and have practical applicability for Tyrolean SMEs. For Dr. Jürgen Bodenseer as President of the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, the presentation ceremony for the Science Award is a special event signaling support for the young people and the future of the Tyrol.At the ceremony, the MCI’s Rector Andreas Altmann said, “I am particularly grateful to the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce and President Jürgen Bodenseer for making this award.
