Department insights

MCiT Management and Media Camp

The highlight of the two majors Management and Media are the associated camps in the fourth semester of the Management, Communication & IT bachelor's program. In block courses lasting over a week, students dedicate themselves to a concrete task from the real world. What does a consultant, project manager or developer actually do? The participants of the Management Camp explored this question. Cloud Consulting Group GmbH was one of the companies on board. The students gained a comprehensive insight into the Salesforce ecosystem, discussed leadership, conflict management, customer communication and mastered numerous challenges together.

In the Media Camp, our students ventured into the virtual realms of the Metaverse in cooperation with Swarovski. Equipped with Meta Quest 2 VR goggles, the aim was not only to experience virtual space and its possibilities, but also to develop possible strategic starting points for the use of this technology in the area of communication/marketing and new work. The students developed corresponding concepts, which were discussed with Swarovski at the end of the project.

CHE University Ranking

The recently published Comparison of Universities 2023 by the international Center for Higher Education Development (CHE), again provides excellent results for our bachelor's program Management, Communication & IT. Top marks were given, among other things, for the contacts with professional practice as well as career orientation, the reliable duration of studies within the scheduled time and the comprehensive support at the beginning of studies. We are delighted! Details can be found in the corresponding blog post.

New partner universities for MCiT bachelor's and master's students

MCI | The Entrepreneurial School® is always looking to open more international doors. Future Management, Communication & IT bachelor's exchange students can look forward to no less than three new destinations. One of them is the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the sprawling capital of Poland, Warsaw. Another contract has been signed with EM Normandie Business School. Our bachelor's students will be able to study at the campus in Dublin, Ireland, in the future. For those who are more drawn to southern climes, the Università degli Studi di Padova will be available in the future.

The network of partner universities has also been expanded for our master's students: With the renowned Politecnico di Milano and the Università di Bologna, two partner universities in our southern neighbors will be available in the future. Another agreement was signed with the Dutch university, the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Make the world your classroom!

Events and Celebrations

MCI Creativity Award for DiBSE students

DiBSE student Stefan Dobler wins the MCI Creativity Award 2023! His business idea convinced the jury: BionicAI offers people with visual impairments a barrier-free way to participate in everyday work and education. Through the innovative combination of hardware and software, the smartphone-based visual aid creates a cost-effective and portable alternative to existing systems. We are very happy with the award winner and also congratulate our Digital Business & Software Engineering students Pirmin Aster, Jan Kuhn, Matthias Falbesoner, Sascha Richter, Jürgen Zangerl and Dominik Zierler on fifth place! You can find details in the related blog post.

Alumni Weekend

According the motto "Rekindle old friendships and make valuable new contacts", the MCI once again invited its graduates and especially the anniversary cohorts to the MCI Alumni Weekend on June 16 and 17. The event, which has already become a tradition, provided an exciting program to bring the academic year to a successful close. Details can be found in the corresponding blog post.

Our MCiT Round Table

The idea behind: We want to offer Management, Communication & IT alumni of different years who live in the same city an opportunity to network with each other. When our Head of department and studies Mr. Mirski meets our graduates they talk about career opportunities and also discuss possible projects in cooperation with our department and our research unit. The MCiT Round Table takes place once a semester. Recently, our Munich community met at diva-e. While the participants first got a presentation on "The value of customer data", the evening ended with a cozy get-together at a trendy Italian restaurant.
Coming soon: In the future, we are also planning MCiT Round Tables in Vienna and Zurich!
