Campus Tirol Motorsport at Formula Student Austria 2022

Until 6 years ago there was no Formula Student team in Western Austria - let alone a roadworthy car. This year the Campus Tirol Motorsport Team impressed with their electric race car at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg - an incredible achievement!

In 2016, a handful of motorsport enthusiastic students had the idea to found a Formula Student team in the Tyrol. Originating in the USA, Formula Student is now an international design competition in which student teams from all over the world compete in racing cars they have designed and manufactured themselves.

After six years of hard work, some setbacks and a lot of headaches, the Campus Tirol Motorsport Team is now an association of students from all Tyrolean universities and represents a platform for practical training in mechatronics. The team consists of 50 students who share the tasks of Aerodynamics, Suspension, Performance, Chassis, Powertrain and Electronics in the engineering area.

Just in time for the Austrian Formula Student event at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg at the end of July, the CTM team was able to enter the race for the first time with its electrical vehicle and promptly achieved 14th place among the 30 international teams!

We are particularly proud that students from the MCI Mechatronics program are also actively involved in the team. We congratulate the CTM team on this incredible achievement!

The team is more motivated and stronger than ever and is of course always looking for support from students from a wide range of disciplines. If you are interested in joining this unique project, you can find all relevant information on the CTM team's website!
