The Office, Part 8: The core of the study program organization

In the blog series "The Office: Behind the Scenes of your Med-Tech Department", we introduce you to the team of Medical & Health Technologies, which is responsible for the organization and design of your daily study routine.

Who advises and supports me when I don't know my way around or have other concerns? Who has an answer for all my questions? Our Office experts, Anna Knabl and Christina Luxner, of course.

They are the first point of contact for faculty and students. They provide help and advice daily, and their open and helpful manner makes them very popular. In the following, we give you an exclusive look behind the scenes of the Medical & Health Technologies department and introduce you to our Office managers Anna and Christina.

Anna Knabl:

Position: Office Management & Student Support for the bachelor's degree program in Medical, Health & Sports Technology

Area of Responsibility: First point of contact for lecturers and students, organization of the admission procedure, organization of study operations and daily business, preparation and planning of courses and examinations, support at events, fairs, and graduation ceremonies, etc.

Education / Career: Anna started her apprenticeship at EGLO Leuchten GmbH in August 2016 and completed it in July 2019. After that, she worked in the European Sales Department for a total of three years until August 2022. She was responsible for sales assistance and back-office country management. Her main tasks included the support of the EGLO branches in Northern and Western Europe regarding projects, new product inquiries and ideas, price calculations, customer visits, events, and other administrative tasks.

At MCI since: December 2022

Favorite task/area: The thing I enjoy most is the contact with the students. As an Office Manager, I get to accompany and support them throughout their studies, from their application to their graduation. Apart from looking after the students, I also enjoy doing major planning work such as organizing admission interviews, preparing for graduation, or creating semester overviews, which give me the necessary overview for my day-to-day business. Every day is different, which is why it never gets boring.

Christina Luxner:

Position: Office Management & Student Support for the master's program in Medical & Sports Technologies

Area of Responsibility: First point of contact for lecturers and students, organization of the admission procedure, organization of study operations and daily business, preparation and planning of courses and examinations, support at events, fairs, and graduation ceremonies, etc.

Education / Career: She began her apprenticeship at EGLO Leuchten GmbH together with Anna as an office administrator in August 2016 and completed it with honors in July 2019. After that, she joined the master data management department. There, she was responsible for managing products, projects, and production orders, creating spare parts and advertising materials in the system. A further part of her job was the correspondence between the various production sites in Hungary, China, India, and the product designers in-house until Christina decided to leave the company in July 2023.

At MCI since: September 2023

Favorite task/area: I enjoy the contact with students and lecturers. It's a great pleasure to talk to them every day to find out what's going on in the courses and the respective cohort. I also really enjoy organizing the admissions interviews, answering inquiries from potential students, preparing for the final exams and graduation, and above all, the day-to-day business during the semester.

This is what the team says about Anna and Christina:

"We are happy to have Anna and Christina on our team. After a few changes, we, and especially the students, now have a consistent study program office with two wonderful personalities who are always here to advise and have an open ear. Anna's lively and communicative manner and Christina's calm and relaxed nature immediately won us over. The two of them complement each other perfectly and work hand in hand to ensure that our studies run smoothly. We can always rely on them. They are not only highly professional but also very efficient at their work. They have enriched the team enormously and even taught the "old hands" the odd youthful word or two. Thank you for supporting us and the degree programs!"
