Caring for Climate

Date 2020-11-23

High-Level Meeting | 8 December 2020 | 09:00-11:00 a.m. EST

This online high-level event, convened by the UN Global Compact together with the UN Environment Programme and UN Climate Change, will be co-hosted with the COP25 and COP26 Climate Champions. This year, the gathering will build momentum towards the virtual Climate Ambition Summit on 12 December 2020, co-convened by the United Nations, the United Kingdom, and France, in partnership with Chile and Italy, in which national governments are set to announce ambitious new commitments under the Paris Agreement. We invite you to join us for this important multi-stakeholder dialogue which will rally leadership to support a healthy, resilient, zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth.

The event will feature thoughtful plenary sessions, exclusive networking opportunities and access to the UN Global Compact library on climate. Participants will join leaders representing initiatives such as “Race to Zero” and “Business Ambition for 1.5°C” to take stock of progress since the Paris Agreement, discuss strategies for a green recovery to tackle today’s twin crises of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, and explore ideas for strengthening inclusive multilateralism.
