MCI alumnus Gregor Wechner receives award for project "Preferences for Travel Decisions in Generation Z”

The Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) have been awarding the Sustainability Award for particularly innovative and sustainable university projects every two years since 2018.

The Sustainability Award is announced for the following topics

  1. teaching & curriculum
  2. research
  3. structural anchoring
  4. student initiatives
  5. administration & management
  6. communication & decision making
  7. regional cooperation
  8. international cooperation

In the student initiatives category, our International Business & Management master's graduate Gregor Wechner, BA MA was able to achieve third place with his master thesis. This is about "railOn", a travel platform that makes train travel more accessible. "railOn" offers youth and young adults customizable rail travel throughout Europe and is an alternative to air travel and all-inclusive offers that is in line with the spirit of the times. The title of the submitted project is Preferences for Travel Decisions in Generation Z.

We sincerely congratulate Gregor and are pleased that his innovative, sustainable idea has received such recognition.
