We are Anna and Johanna and we are studying „Entrepreneurship & Tourism - Major Strategic Management" at MCI. In order to pursue the double degree program at LUISS Business School, we moved to Rome last September.
The combination of studying at two universities was a whole new experience for us. The studies at MCI focus on tourism in general, destination marketing & development and strategic management (not necessarily only in a touristic setting) as well as on family businesses. Whereas the master program at LUISS Business School focuses on the hospitality aspect and what we liked most is the possibility to gain a lot of insights in the luxury sector. Since it’s a master program in „Fashion, Luxury and Tourism Management - Major Tourism Management“, we also had impressive guest-speakers from the world of fashion, luxury and tourism. To sum up, the double degree is a perfect opportunity to gain insights in two completely different approaches and it helps to apply new perspectives.?
The pandemic has made our time even more special. While we enjoyed the empty museums and the city in an unique way, we were able to attend classes in presence (besides online classes), under the highest security measures, on the beautiful campus of Villa Blanc.
Not only the campus, but of course also Rome - the eternal city, is more than beautiful. There is no other place that unites culture and history in such an impressive way. Our favorite thing to do was to enjoy the delicious Italian culinary art!
