The City

Västerås is a city in central Sweden, located on the shore of Lake Mälaren in the province Västmanland, some 100 kilometres west of Stockholm. The city has a population of approx. 119,400 inhabitants.
Västerås is predominantly known as an industrial city, but also a retailing and logistics city.

The University

Mälardalen University, or MDH, is a university college located in Västerås and Eskilstuna, Sweden. At MDH, the many study programmes on offer fall within four educational areas: economics, health and welfare, teacher education, and engineering.
Mälardalen University is the world's first environmentally certified school according to the international standard ISO 14001.
