Single Use Support - Innovation for Biopharma Logistics from Tyrol

SUSupport (Single Use Support) was founded in 2015 by Johannes Kirchmair and Thomas Wurm. The aim has always been to improve the liquid logistics process of the biopharmaceutical industry on the basis of the "Single Use Bag", a disposable bag. Too often, the founders of Single Use Support were confronted with heavy losses of high quality biopharmaceutical liquids due to spills or bio-contamination. SUSupport bridges the gap between the Down.Stream and the Fill & Finish process in the Biopharma industry. Within three years, the two founders have created a company whose technology is the talk of international pharmaceutical companies. In 2020, the team has grown to around 30 employees and is constantly expanding. By using SUSupport's technology, more high-quality substance can be transported internationally, faster and safely with less storage volume. SUSupport is located in Kufstein, Austria. From this location, they operate globally and engage in R&D in cooperation with international pharmaceutical companies.

Johannes Kirchmair and Thomas Wurm studied Economics & Management at MCI and share their success story with us:

What motivated you to begin your own start-up & would you do it again?

We identified a technology gap and wanted to close it. Yes, we would definitely do it again.

What was the biggest challenge?

Finding good employees, because many shy away from working for an insecure start-up.

In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic of a successful entrepreneur?

DOING instead of TALKING!
