Foodlink - Innovative raw materials for food products

Due to current developments in the field of nutrition and food awareness, the Tyrolean companies HANDL TYROL and Recheis have decided to carry out a joint research project with the MCI. This involved a holistic approach to product analysis and the use of healthy vegetable raw materials in order to be able to offer customers innovative products.

As an output, the balance line of the company Recheis is commercially available for the end consumer. This product line is particularly high in protein and fiber and is made from legumes.

The project was a complete success for the cooperation partners.

Karl Christian Handl of HANDL TYROL sees great potential in this mutually fruitful collaboration: “As a producer of traditional and contemporary Tyrolean sausage and meat specialties, our export quota is over 50%. In order to be able to continue to grow in the future and to meet consumer demands, innovations are an important success factor. In this project, the focus was on product developments such as more conscious meat snacks."

Martin Terzer from Recheis adds: “We are facing international competition in which we can only win with intelligent product concepts and high quality. This initiative shows how synergetic cooperation and networking can create the basis for higher added value."
