Study programs

All MCI study programs benefit from a strong focus on practical relevance, an effective international mix of faculty from the academic and business worlds, a project-based design, an optional semester abroad, the availability of internships throughout the world, and the MCI’s proverbial emphasis on service. Outstanding quality standards and career opportunities are just two of the attractions of study at the MCI. Close collaboration with the business community ensures that MCI graduates are much sought after on the employment market.

Bachelor programs
An MCI Bachelor is a 6-semester program leading to an academic degree and a professional qualification at the same time. Bachelor programs can be completed in full- or part-time study. They cover such innovative fields as business, management, law, IT, social services, health, tourism and engineering.

Master programs
With a previous university qualification as the point of departure, a 4-semester Master program expands on students’ existing knowledge and goes into greater depth. Students learn to make practical use of the content taught and develop solutions to complex problems. Outstanding program quality and career potential are two of the pillars of an MCI study program.

Executive Education & Development
For decision-makers at all levels of management, the MCI offers flexible solutions for professional career development at an international level. Postgraduate Master’s programs, compact executive certificate courses with a unique system of credits for MBA, MSc and LL.M. degree programs, targeted seminars and customized corporate training programs make the MCI an attractive mentor for the motivated.

Doctorate
A cooperation agreement signed by University of Innsbruck's Rector Tilmann Märk and MCI's Rector Andreas Altmann, provides for closer cooperation between the two organizations with regard to doctoral programs. Ph.D. students from the University of Innsbruck will also be able to do the research required for their dissertations in research groups at Management Center Innsbruck. Ph.D. students will also be able to receive supervision from qualified faculty and research staff at the MCI. The MCI will make the necessary infrastructure available to the Ph.D. students, while all relevant examinations must be taken at or recognized by Innsbruck University, which will also confer the degree.

Time models & organization

Full-time or part-time
MCI does not only offer traditional full-time courses, but also a number of part-time study programs. The structure of part-time study programs facilitates the combination of work and studies. The contents and scope of the programs correspond to those of full-time courses. Our students are additionally provided with first-class support, which allows them to obtain a degree without having to give up their jobs. Lectures and seminars usually take place in the evenings or in blocks on Saturdays.

Blended Learning at MCI
Within the scope of an exemplary initiative MCI has acquired comprehensive expertise in the field of blended learning. Several degree courses offered by the Entrepreneurial School® are thus already based on the pioneering method of instruction.

Blended learning is a unique combination of online learning units offered synchronously or asynchronously and on-campus instruction. The temporal and spatial flexibility of distance learning is thus perfectly complemented with personal interaction and supervision. Web Conferences, Webcasts, Podcasts, Videos, Social Media Tools and other resources are exploited to enable students to acquire profound knowledge in their respective professional fields and the skills they need to rise to future challenges.
