Applications for admission to the degree program must be submitted online using the standardized application form accompanied by the required documents within the period stipulated.
An early application is recommended.

Following the vetting of applicants’ previous qualifications, the decision on admission to the program will be based on the following items, which are weighted as indicated:
Career background - 30%
The applicant’s professional background is considered on the basis of the submitted application materials. Particular attention is paid to education and certificates, general professional development and position (duties, responsibilities, etc.) as well as academic and professional goals.
Written entrance exam - 20%
The written entrance exam (molecular biology, cell biology, chemistry and fundamentals of process engineering, in particular biotechnology-process engineering) tests the compatibility of the applicants with the target group.
Interview - 50%
The interview is conducted by a commission and gives applicants the opportunity to present themselves personally, to expand on information provided in the application materials and to explain their academic and professional goals.
Allocation of places
Participation in the admission procedure is free of charge. However, in order to cover expenses the MCI reserves the right to impose a fee to the amount of EUR 50,- on persons failing to appear at a pre-arranged admission-procedure appointments. Notice of cancellation must be given at least two working days before an appointment is due to take place.
