Time model

Full-time (FT)
At MCI, full-time is the traditional mode of study. Lectures and seminars are held on weekdays. Condensed teaching units give students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of individual subjects.

Part-time (PT)
Many study programs offered at MCI are also available in part-time. Part-time programs are structured in such a way as to enable students to combine a full-time job with intensive study. In both content and scope a part-time program corresponds to a full-time course of study. Lectures and seminars are usually held in a condensed form on Friday afternoons (e.g. between 1.00 and 10.00 p.m.) and Saturdays (from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.).

Blended learning
Several MCI study programs are based on blended learning. This allows to complement the flexibility of online distance learning by personal interaction and supervision. Synchronous and asynchronous online sessions are combined with on-campus classes. The mode of study is aided by web conferences, webcasts, podcasts, videos, social media tools, and other innovative formats. The blended learning concept thus facilitates the combination of work and study.

Dual Study Program
The Smart Building Technologies program is offered in dual form. This means that several months of study at the university are followed by several months of experience in the field within innovative partner companies. In this way, theory and practice are continuously linked and students gain relevant work experience during their studies.

Language

German (GE)
The lectures in courses marked with (GE) are held in German. Some lectures and individual semesters may also be taught in English to promote the students’ acquisition of foreign language skills.

English (EN)
The lectures in courses with the (EN) label are held entirely in English. Applications for English-language Bachelor’s degree courses are accepted in English only.
