Study program: Tourism Business Studies (Bachelor)

When I look back at my time at MCI...

…many positive memories and unique stories come to my mind. I was able to receive an outstanding education in an excellent environment, meet unique people and work together to advance concepts and projects. From the theoretical input of lecturers and the involvement of international guest speakers to the development of practical case studies of international players in project teams: the MCI teaches holistic management theory combined with specific expertise from relevant areas of management such as strategic management, controlling, marketing, innovation and financial management. Innovative study programs, motivating lecturers and entrepreneurs as well as a top-class international network characterize the MCI.

How did your studies prepare you for your current job?

Forming and developing skills in leadership and strategic thinking were central goals of this study program. Learning a theoretical skill set in combination with practical hands-on mentality equips you with the important tools for an international career. This basis enabled me to develop my strengths on different hierarchical levels. In the sports business and especially in Formula 1, it is essential to perform at the highest level with international decision makers and specialists and to find and develop innovative solutions in a constantly changing environment. In the long run, a sports team only performs as well as the individuals who form it. The tireless striving to be a better "you" or "us" tomorrow than today and to be very honest with oneself, to promote transparency within the organization in order to overcome mistakes and shortcomings is a very big part of a Formula 1 team - and therefore the mindset of a successful and effective team. Many of these ways of thinking are learned at the MCI. To know how to implement them, to develop them further and have fun at the same time - in the end, you have to do it yourself.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?

Find your passion, believe in yourself, push for performance and just do it – you won’t regret it, and I promise you will have lots of fun.
