Study program: Tourism Business Studies (Bachelor)

How did your studies at MCI prepare you for your current job?

Through presentations or seminar papers as well as an individual approach by the lecturers, different projects to certain topics during the degree program are created. You have to deal with different ways of working and contents. In my professional everyday life as a hotel asset manager, this is exactly what is necessary.

The internship, which is an established part of the curriculum at MCI, laid the foundation for my further career. I was able to start my career in the hotel industry/hotel real estate after graduation. In addition, the semester abroad in the USA has significantly broadened and enriched my understanding of the field of tourism.

When I look back at my time at MCI...

… I do so with great pleasure. The degree program teaches all the basics for working in tourism in the most diverse areas of this multi-layered industry. The lecturers can pass on relevant knowledge - based on their own experience in the business world - and convey it in a practical way. The possibility of gaining work experience with the internship during the study period is also a very good supplement to the training within the framework of the courses.

Even though the time had its challenging phases, the efforts were worthwhile in any case.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?

I would give a clear recommendation for studying at the MCI. Lecturers as well as guest lecturers are characterized by a high level of expertise in their respective fields. The close cooperation with fellow students and the exchange with the lecturers helps to build up a good network for the professional future already during the studies. The MCI also has an international network of companies and universities, which offers students a wide range of opportunities in their education and professional development.
