Study Program: Social Work (Bachelor)

When I look back at my time at MCI...

... I feel that choosing to study “Social Work” was the right decision. The course of study completely fulfilled my needs as a student and prepared me for my professional life in the best possible way. The friendships and social networks I formed back then still exist today. I am also pleased to be working as a freelance lecturer in the program. For me, going to MCI is a bit like coming home.

How did your studies at MCI prepare you for your current job?

Teaching at MCI is a good mix of theory and practice, of fundamentals and methods, of self-awareness and community. In particular, the mandatory internships were very valuable for acquiring the appropriate tools for a future career.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?

I can warmly recommend MCI. The structure of mandatory attendance was particularly good for me; I probably would never have become a classic university student. It is sometimes stressful and challenging, but at the same time the framework offered by MCI and the high quality of services leave time for the most important things in a degree program - its content.

What is your motto?

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible. (Francis of Assisi)
