When I look back at my time at MCI...
I am proud of what I was able to achieve at the MCI. When I decided to pursue my master's studies, I can recall being asked: You’re planning on continuing your career playing basketball, and being a full-time student while being a father to a newborn during your studies? How are you going to manage that? Well!! I can say, it didn’t come without its sets of ups and down. Ultimately, it's all about the lesson you learned through the journey. That it’s not just about where you stand, but about the direction, you’re trying to go.
How did your studies at MCI prepare you for your current job?
I believe my studies have prepared me to confidently make a smooth transition from the world of a professional athlete to one in the business world. MCI's overall academic and professional framework allowed me to build and add upon some of my already acquired skills and experience as a professional athlete. The curriculum was tied to practical and theoretical connections between your academic studies and the world of work. MCI teaches you, like in team sports, the importance of teamwork, networking, time management, and identifying and making clear your vision and intent toward achieving set goals in both your career and life.
What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?
Two reasons why you should study at MCI: 1. Networking 2. Exit opportunities MCI offers opportunities to interact with experts and alums in your field of interest through seminars or guest lecture series. You'd be hard-pressed to gain such access anywhere else.
