When I look back at my time at MCI...
I can definitely report positive things. Even though you definitely experience your ups and downs during the study period, especially in the part-time form, and need good stamina in addition to a full-time job, the study program allows you to make friends in the business world and to expand your education in many areas, be it technical or organizational.
How did your studies at MCI prepare you for your current job?
Our company produces innovative automation solutions for various industries. I have encountered a lot of synergies between my professional development and my studies, which made it possible for me to successively take on more responsibilities and eventually got promoted to the position of managing director. For my current job, a sound technical background is necessary, because you are still very deeply involved in the development and production processes. Nevertheless, topics like marketing, sales or project management (to name a few) are also important in order for me to move the company forward together with my team. Here, too, there were many subjects during my studies that taught the necessary theory.
What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?
I recommend everyone to continue their education, be it with a degree or other continuing education opportunities. Today, the world in the field of automation technology / mechatronics, is very fast-moving, which makes constant further education necessary. On the one hand, various research topics and future developments were addressed throughout my studies at MCI, and on the other hand, general topics were discussed in detail, which is very much in demand on the market. I mainly chose MCI primarily because I had the option to study part-time. In my opinion, the MCI has found a very good way of combining high-quality courses with professional and private life.
