Studiengang: Social Work, Social Policy & Management (Master)

When I look back at my time at MCI...

I think of ...

...lively discussions with fellow students and lecturers.
...the opportunity to work and study productively in small groups.
...a very practice-oriented course of study led by lecturers with extensive expertise in both practice and theory.
...motivating people who accompanied me.
...the many Zoom meetings, some extremely productive, others endless in front of black screens.
...the challenges of studying during lockdown.
...learning in an inspiring environment.
...and of course, lots of coffee.

How did your studies at MCI prepare you for your current job?

In my daily work as a social worker, the cornerstones of social work, such as social justice, human rights, and respect for diversity, take center stage. Interacting with a diverse group of clients continuously challenges me to implement these principles and create a supportive environment in which their rights are upheld. Thanks to my studies, I can not only show sensitivity to the needs of marginalized groups, but also actively contribute to promoting inclusive and equitable structures. The theoretical foundations and practical skills from my studies form the basis of my professional practice, which I am continuously developing. The intensive reflection and theoretical examination during my studies have deepened my understanding of the relevance of social issues and sensitized me to the needs of the people I work with. In particular, I benefit from the lectures and expertise of various lecturers, who provided us with a wide range of knowledge during my studies.

What would you tell someone who is considering studying at MCI?

If you are looking for a university that offers a wide range of teaching methods, promotes practical skills, and provides international opportunities, then the MCI is definitely worth considering.
