After the successful completion of the architectural competition, the realization of the new MCI campus is becoming more and more concrete. Out of the altogether 88 submissions, the jury unanimously selected the design of the renowned Viennese architects Loudon, Habeler & Partner. The winning project has convinced with its concept of a dynamic campus including extra public spaces and an open connection to the Court Garden.

Construction is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2019. The completion and opening of the new MCI campus is planned for mid-2021. The Federal State of Tyrol is funding the project with 80 million Euro. The City of Innsbruck is investing 25 million Euro including the value of the property. The project also provides for a parking garage housing 40 bus parking spots to replace the former bus terminal and a new sports field ideal for competition purposes.
The university building is designed as a star-shaped solitaire to form a campus which is in accordance with and responds to the urban environment. 31 lecture halls, 26 seminar rooms, a centrally located auditorium, many modern laboratories, and work spaces, as well as meeting places of the highest quality ensure the productivity and innovative drive to promote the dynamic advancement of the Entrepreneurial School® in the global race for the best brains. The project will be situated on the Fenner area in close vicinity to the Faculty of Social Sciences & Economics, the Court Garden, and the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Innsbruck.
