Admission process

The admission to the study requires the completion of an admission process, which is divided into the following parts:

Step 1 - Online application: cover letter, CV & motivation

One part of the admission process is a written application including a résumé and a brief cover letter (professional/academic/social achievements, study/professional goals, etc.).  Your cover letter should explain your interest in the study program as well as the personal goals that you would like to achieve through the program.

Step 2 - Written entrance examination

If your application is received within the application period and all general admission requirements are met, you will be invited to the written entrance examination. This is to assess your suitability for the respective course of study.

The admission test consists of questions on deductive thinking, numerical abilities, English language skills, as well as a study-related personality profile.

Multiple applications

The admission test applies to all Bachelor studies (see below) and has only to be taken once.

Here you can find Admission test information and examples ( pdf | 127.71K )

The admission test for business-related Master’s programs, Social Work programs and all programs in the fields of Technology & Life Sciences assesses candidates’ knowledge in fields relevant to the desired course of study. Further information can be found on the respective subpages of the Master's program under "Admission".

Step 3 - Interview

All applicants are invited to a digital interview to discuss their application, career goals and motivation for the study program.

Upon completion of the admission procedure

Once the admission procedure has been completed, we will assess your results. These will be communicated to you within three weeks of the conclusion of the application process.

  • Allocation of study places
Please note that there are several application deadlines for each academic year. After the completion of each application round, the highest ranked applicants will be admitted to their desired course of study.
Applicants who are not among the highest ranked but still performed well in the application process, will be given a place on the waiting list. Should one of the admitted applicants not accept the study place offered to him or her, you will advance on the list, which may take until the first week of the respective semester.

  • Contract of Study
When a student is accepted, a Contract of Study is concluded, which stipulates the relationship between MCI and the student. At the core of the contract is the definition of the rights and obligations of both parties, e.g.

ο Teaching of degree courses in accordance with existing legal provisions
ο Provisions of required basic conditions, resources, teaching staff, etc.
    ο Active contribution to education
    ο Ensuring attendance
    ο Respecting exam regulations
    ο Completion of an internship

Moreover, the Contract of Study contains information and rules regarding academic degree, specializations/elective modules etc., interruption of studies, tuition fees, cancellation of the contract including examples of possible reasons for cancellation, terms and conditions, house rules etc.
